June 2026 – SAP/open-ux-tools: Delivered TypeScript-enabled OPA5 test generation for Fiori Elements V4, along with targeted refactors and testing to boost reliability and developer productivity. Key features include TS-based OPA5 test generation emitting ES module syntax with type annotations, dynamic OpaJourneyTypes.d.ts generation, and TS support in standalone OPA mode. Implemented substantial refactors to modernize the test-writing path (replacing DotFileExtension enum with a const-based approach, auto-detecting TS in standalone mode, and aligning page-object/templates across JS/TS). Expanded unit and integration tests for the TS path and updated snapshots to reflect the new templates. Documented changes and added a changeset for release notes. Major bug fixes and stability improvements were addressed as part of the TS generation refactor, including aligning templates with TS typings, removing deprecations, and ensuring correct handling of TS/JS page generation paths to avoid duplicates and runtime errors. The work lays a foundation for safer, type-safe test automation and easier future enhancements.
