Worked on tooling standardization and configuration cleanup for the NHSDigital/prevention-services-design-history repository, focusing on reducing developer friction during onboarding and daily development. Addressed a tooling conflict by removing the redundant .tool-versions file, which duplicated functionality already provided by .nvmrc and asdf, both commonly used for managing Node.js and other runtime versions. This change streamlined the repository’s configuration, minimizing errors related to version management and improving consistency across development environments. The update was implemented using Git for version control and involved careful documentation to ensure traceability, with the commit linked to issue tracking for clear rationale and future reference.
