Worked on the elastic/elasticsearch repository to enhance Kibana alert management by updating the kibana_system role, granting it comprehensive privileges on ad-hoc alert indices. Leveraged Java and YAML to modify role descriptors and implemented automated tests to validate these security changes, ensuring robust integration between Elasticsearch and Kibana. Added maintenance privileges to improve the efficiency and reliability of bulk API operations, directly supporting more resilient alert workflows. Demonstrated backend development and security management skills by designing and verifying role-based access control updates, resulting in improved operational efficiency and faster incident response within the alert management infrastructure for the June 2025 cycle.
