Worked on enhancing the zed-industries/codex repository by implementing cross-shell command support, with a focus on improving usability for Windows users. Developed environment-aware command generation in Rust, enabling the system to detect the active shell and route commands appropriately to PowerShell instead of Bash on Windows platforms. This approach reduced command errors and aligned the tool’s behavior with user expectations in Windows environments. The work established a foundation for broader cross-shell compatibility, streamlining operator workflows and reducing context-switching. Leveraged backend development skills to integrate Windows-specific command paths, increasing reliability and laying groundwork for smoother onboarding of Windows-centric teams.
