Worked on the containers/buildah repository to enhance CI and test infrastructure, focusing on reliability, performance, and maintainability. Over two months, delivered four features and resolved a key bug by increasing CI VM CPU allocation, enabling dynamic parallel test execution, and updating CI images to Fedora 41. Improved test isolation and robustness using bash, shell scripting, and YAML, introducing unique image names and private directories to support parallel safety. Addressed flaky tests and streamlined temporary file handling, laying the groundwork for scalable, parallelized testing. These efforts accelerated feedback cycles and contributed to more stable, deterministic release processes for the project.
November 2024: Delivered CI and test reliability improvements in the containers/buildah repo. Key outcomes include updated CI infrastructure with Fedora 41 and stabilized CI VM naming, plus groundwork for parallel test execution through test robustness improvements and parallel-safe prefetching. These changes reduce flaky tests, accelerate feedback, and enable more scalable testing as upstream changes arrive.
