Worked on the Shopify/discovery-apache-beam repository to enhance continuous integration efficiency by implementing caching within the CI test workflows. Focused on optimizing Python and tox environments, the developer introduced YAML-based GitHub Actions that enable pip and tox caching, resulting in faster test execution and reduced build times. The technical approach involved updating the setup-environment-action to accept new caching inputs and modifying the Python tests workflow to leverage these improvements. This work directly contributed to lowering CI costs and accelerating feedback cycles for the team. The project demonstrated practical application of CI/CD, caching strategies, and workflow automation using YAML and GitHub Actions.
