Worked on the valkey-glide repository to enhance the reliability and security of AWS IAM authentication workflows, focusing on backend development with Rust and AWS SDK integration. Addressed a critical bug by refining the IAM credentials provider’s handling of the AWS_ENDPOINT_URL_STS environment variable, ensuring explicit endpoint overrides are respected and disabling FIPS during loading to prevent misconfiguration in regions with non-standard STS endpoints. Introduced strict HTTPS validation to safeguard against insecure token transmission and developed comprehensive regression tests for various input scenarios. Collaborated across teams, aligning code changes with feedback and emphasizing test-driven development to improve authentication resilience and reduce support incidents.
