Worked on stabilizing the Vite 8 development server within the module-federation/core repository, focusing on improving support for TypeScript project references. Addressed a template failure by implementing logic to infer the root directory from tsconfig references, ensuring that development templates no longer break when using project references. Enhanced reliability by updating core code paths and adding comprehensive tests to validate rootDir inference and projectReferences handling. This work, primarily using TypeScript and leveraging skills in plugin development and testing, reduced onboarding friction for TypeScript-based repositories and helped prevent future regressions in the development workflow, contributing to a smoother developer experience.
