During the month, contributed to the openemr/openemr repository by developing a feature that allows uploaded documents to be linked directly to patient encounters, enhancing data integrity and clinician workflow. This work involved updating PHP backend logic and API routes to accept an optional encounter ID, ensuring documents could be associated with specific encounters or remain unlinked as needed. The developer also revised Swagger/OpenAPI documentation and related YAML files to reflect these changes, improving integration clarity for external applications. All updates followed Conventional Commits for traceability, and the approach emphasized maintainable code and clear documentation to support ongoing API development efforts.
