During March 2025, Abgvector developed an enhancement for the grafana/jsonnet-libs repository, focusing on improving alert accuracy in clustered OpenSearch environments. He implemented a filtering selector within the OpenSearchHighNodeDiskUsage alert rule, allowing disk usage calculations to consider only relevant nodes by applying custom filters. This approach addressed edge cases in multi-node clusters where unfiltered metrics could lead to misleading alerts. Working primarily with jsonnet and yaml, Abgvector leveraged his skills in alerting, monitoring, and Prometheus to deliver a targeted feature that increased the reliability of disk usage monitoring.
