Worked on the hackclub/hcb repository to enhance the reliability of user-facing email flows by addressing a specific bug in the account update process. Focused on backend development using Ruby on Rails and Ruby, the work involved correcting the email update success message to display the original email rather than the replacement, directly reducing user confusion during email changes. This targeted fix improved the consistency of the user experience and aligned the interface with user expectations. The change was implemented with careful attention to scope, modifying only the relevant controller to ensure clarity without introducing side effects or impacting other system components.
