During November 2024, Eich expanded platform support for the NVIDIA/gpu-operator repository by implementing SUSE SLE-Micro compatibility. This work involved developing new volume configurations and enabling access to subscription credentials and SUSEConnect files, allowing the GPU operator to deploy seamlessly on SUSE SLE-Micro systems. Using Go, Kubernetes, and system administration expertise, Eich addressed the challenge of running GPU workloads on a previously unsupported platform, thereby broadening deployment options for customers. The engineering effort focused on integration and configuration rather than bug fixes, demonstrating depth in platform enablement and infrastructure adaptation within a complex, production-grade Kubernetes operator environment.
