During May 2025, Elea Bach developed automated spin-up initialization tests for the Gradio application within the verily-src/workbench-app-devcontainers repository. Focusing on Python and leveraging Gradio’s testing capabilities, Elea implemented a suite of tests to verify that the containerized Gradio UI launches and initializes as expected. This work enhanced test coverage and established a reliable baseline for continuous integration, enabling faster feedback cycles for both developers and QA. By automating the verification process, Elea reduced manual testing effort and improved traceability for future iterations. The contribution centered on building reliability into the devcontainer workflow rather than addressing existing bugs.
