During February 2026, contributed to the GoogleCloudPlatform/magic-modules repository by delivering a patch job reporting enhancement focused on operational efficiency. Developed and integrated the skip_unpatchable_vms field within the google_os_config_patch_deployment.patch_config, enabling patch deployments to bypass unpatchable virtual machines and accurately report their status. This approach improved the clarity of patch deployment metrics by reducing unnecessary noise from unpatchable instances. The work leveraged skills in cloud configuration and infrastructure as code, utilizing Terraform and YAML to implement the feature. The enhancement addressed a specific need for more precise reporting in automated patch management workflows, reflecting a targeted and practical engineering effort.
