During January 2025, Elvegaa focused on stabilizing display rendering for the Mini-PiTFT within the adafruit/Adafruit_Learning_System_Guides repository. Addressing a critical compatibility issue, Elvegaa replaced the deprecated Pillow getsize() method with getbbox() in the mini_pitft_stats.py script, ensuring accurate text bounding box calculations and eliminating deprecation warnings. This Python-based bug fix improved the reliability and future maintainability of the embedded system’s display output. By aligning the code with current Pillow APIs, Elvegaa reduced user-facing rendering issues and streamlined ongoing support. The work demonstrated careful attention to code quality, traceability, and the evolving requirements of embedded Python scripting.
