Developed a GetProductsByTags tool for the Shubhamsaboo/parlant repository, enabling tag-based product retrieval to support more dynamic conversational agent behavior. The implementation involved backend development in Python, with new functions added to tools.py and tool_utilities.py, and integrated Supabase for scalable product data access. Expanded test coverage using Gherkin to define conversational scenarios and guidelines, ensuring the new tool’s reliability and alignment with agent decision-making requirements. The work focused on enhancing the repository’s data-driven capabilities and testing robustness, laying a foundation for future product discovery features. No major bugs were reported or fixed during this development period.
