Developed and integrated structured output support for Anthropic models within the maximhq/bifrost repository, focusing on robust model input and output handling. The work involved refactoring output configuration flows to simplify merging of model request fields and replacing external dependencies with an internal merge function, which improved maintainability. Enhanced test coverage ensured compatibility across both Anthropic and non-Anthropic paths, while targeted code quality improvements addressed type casting, context updates, and formatting consistency. Utilizing Go for backend and API development, the changes resulted in broader model support, more reliable request and response flows, and a cleaner, more maintainable codebase overall.
