Developed and delivered the Shelter Shift Sign-Up System for the oss-slu/shelter_volunteers repository, enabling users to register for predefined shifts and seamlessly add them to their schedules. The work involved a frontend UI refactor using React and JavaScript to display available shifts and streamline the selection process, enhancing the volunteer user experience. Updated testing and data handling workflows ensured the new shift system was reliable and maintainable. This feature reduced manual scheduling overhead and improved shift coverage across shelters, laying the foundation for scalable, shift-based volunteer operations. The approach emphasized end-to-end workflow integration and clear commit traceability throughout development.
