During August 2025, Erez Nachman focused on improving boot stability in the geerlingguy/linux repository by addressing a critical issue with interrupt handling in embedded systems. He developed and delivered a targeted fix in C that clears all pending interrupts during the initialization of the irqchip/mvebu-gicp driver. This approach prevents spurious interrupts after a kexec boot, directly improving system reliability and preventing CPU lockups caused by residual interrupt states. Erez applied his expertise in kernel development and interrupt management to ensure that platforms using the MVEBU GICP controller boot cleanly, demonstrating a deep understanding of low-level system stability challenges.
