Engy Ebrahim focused on enhancing security and reliability in the dotnet/dnceng repository by enabling Managed Identity authentication for Kusto ingestion and querying. This work involved refactoring connection string configurations and removing legacy Active Directory application dependencies, streamlining authentication processes and reducing operational overhead. Engy updated the telemetry repository to leverage managed identity, which improved both security posture and data integrity. Using C# and leveraging skills in authentication, backend development, and cloud services, Engy delivered a robust authentication model. The depth of the work laid a strong foundation for future identity-based access controls, though no critical bugs were addressed during this period.
