In June 2025, Eric Perelli developed a requirements coverage mapping and validation feature for the inferno-framework/us-core-test-kit repository. He implemented this using Ruby and Ruby on Rails, leveraging his expertise in CI/CD and test automation. The solution introduced a verifies_requirements method within the Runnable module, enabling direct mapping of project requirements to automated tests and improving traceability. Eric also created rake tasks to generate and check requirements coverage, aligning test governance with defined business needs. This work enhanced the framework’s ability to validate test coverage, reduced risk, and streamlined verification processes, demonstrating a thoughtful and methodical engineering approach.
