During June 2025, epirat07 focused on enhancing the robustness of the VVC decoder within the ossrs/ffmpeg-webrtc repository. Working primarily in C and leveraging deep knowledge of FFmpeg and video decoding, epirat07 addressed a potential null-pointer dereference by introducing checks for film grain characteristics before access, thereby reducing crash risk and undefined behavior in edge cases. The work also expanded SEI message parsing, improving the decoder’s ability to handle a wider range of video streams and increasing debuggability. These targeted improvements strengthened real-time decoding reliability and laid a foundation for safer handling of uninitialized data in future development.
