Worked on stabilizing large-database import workflows for the immich-app/immich backend by addressing reliability issues during server health checks. Using TypeScript and backend development skills, extended server health check timeouts to prevent false restore failures when importing substantial datasets. Enhanced error handling by ensuring that failed health checks during imports now return clear, actionable errors, reducing confusion and unnecessary repair cycles. Collaborated closely with teammates to implement and review these changes, resulting in smoother import throughput and fewer operational incidents. The work focused on improving backend robustness and reliability, with particular attention to error signaling and server process management.
