Worked on stabilizing group category management within the chamilo/chamilo-lms repository, focusing on backend development and UI/UX refinement using PHP. Addressed a critical bug by implementing automatic creation of a default group category when none exist, ensuring that group creation processes do not encounter runtime errors due to missing categories. Enhanced the user interface to prevent deletion of the last remaining group category, thereby maintaining data integrity and preventing orphaned data. This targeted fix improved the reliability of group management workflows and reduced potential support incidents, aligning with ongoing efforts to harden core collaboration features and streamline user experience.
