During December 2024, Erwin Dondorp enhanced the apache/activemq-artemis-console repository by delivering Broker Diagram Visualization Enhancements focused on improving UI clarity and operator experience. He implemented independent visibility controls for internal versus external addresses and queues, using React and TypeScript to manage state and conditional rendering. CSS refinements, such as thicker borders and targeted color handling, increased the readability of broker topologies and reduced ambiguity for users diagnosing broker states. While no bugs were fixed during this period, Erwin’s work laid a maintainable foundation for future visualization improvements and aligned with product goals to streamline operational diagnostics for brokers.
