During August 2025, Emil Scherlies enhanced the NixOS/nixos-search repository by implementing a high-resolution favicon to improve the site’s visual branding. Emil integrated the favicon-96x96.png asset directly into the HTML head, ensuring consistent brand visibility across browser tabs and bookmarks. This work involved front end development skills, specifically HTML asset management and lifecycle handling, with a focus on clear commit traceability. While no critical bugs were addressed during this period, Emil’s contribution strengthened the product’s polish and user experience. The scope of work was focused, demonstrating proficiency in frontend asset integration and attention to detail in user-facing web presentation.
