Worked on modernizing CI workflow runner management for the OpenFreeEnergy/openfe repository, focusing on enhancing reliability and scalability of continuous integration pipelines. Updated existing CI workflows by replacing the gha-runner action with dedicated AWS runner start and stop actions, ensuring explicit control over GPU and CPU runner lifecycles. This approach preserved the core functionality of CI runner management while streamlining the underlying infrastructure to reduce operational ambiguity. Leveraged skills in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and GitHub Actions, with YAML as the primary configuration language. The result was a more stable and efficient CI environment, supporting ongoing development and deployment needs.
