
Worked on the scverse/scvi-tools repository to deliver two features focused on single-cell methylation analysis. Developed a context-aware retrieval enhancement for normalized methylation in the METHYLVI model, introducing a new parameter for context-specific filtering and implementing robust input validation and testing to ensure data accuracy. Later, built the MethylANVI semi-supervised model for scBS-seq data, enabling methylation annotation and cell type label prediction with comprehensive documentation and MuData integration for multi-omics workflows. Leveraged Python, PyTorch, and deep learning techniques throughout, with an emphasis on bioinformatics and data analysis. No bug fixes were recorded during this period.
March 2025: Delivered MethylANVI feature for scBS-seq within scvi-tools, enabling methylation annotation and cell type label prediction, with docs and MuData integration. This strengthens semi-supervised modeling capabilities for single-cell methylation data and broadens downstream usage in multi-omics pipelines.
