Worked on the openshift/release repository to address a reliability issue in the job trigger API, focusing on improving CI/CD pipeline observability and error tracking. The solution involved updating the REST API trigger method from GET to POST, ensuring proper alignment with INTEROP-8858 requirements and industry best practices. Additionally, redirected the HTTP response body to STDERR, enhancing logging clarity for troubleshooting. Utilized skills in API development, DevOps, and shell scripting, primarily working with bash. The work resulted in a more robust and reliable release process, with clearer error reporting and improved maintainability for automated job triggers within the release pipeline.
