Eumel enhanced deployment configurability for the store-gateway component within the grafana/mimir repository by implementing a configurable emptyDir volume in the Helm charts. This work allowed users to specify storage characteristics such as medium and size limits, optimizing resource usage and deployment flexibility for Kubernetes environments. Eumel’s approach focused on configuration management using Helm and yaml, ensuring that the solution integrated seamlessly with existing deployment workflows. Although the contribution was limited to a single feature over one month, the work demonstrated a clear understanding of Kubernetes storage primitives and addressed a practical need for more granular resource control in Helm-based deployments.
