Worked on enhancing deployment configurability for the store-gateway component within the grafana/mimir repository, focusing on Helm chart improvements. Delivered a feature that introduced configurable emptyDir volumes, allowing users to specify storage characteristics such as medium and size limits directly in their deployment configurations. This approach provided greater flexibility and control over resource usage, aligning with best practices in configuration management and Kubernetes operations. The implementation was carried out using yaml, leveraging Helm’s templating capabilities to expose new options for end users. The work addressed a specific need for customizable storage in cloud-native deployments, contributing to more adaptable infrastructure setups.
