Worked on the jellyfin/jellyfin-chromecast repository to enhance playback reliability and codec compatibility for Chromecast clients. Focused on improving H.264 resolution and level detection, the developer implemented algorithm optimizations in TypeScript to accurately handle diverse video formats. Addressed a critical robustness issue by fixing an infinite loop in the codec support helper’s resolution calculation, which stabilized performance and prevented bottlenecks during playback. The work combined video processing expertise with careful attention to codec support, resulting in more reliable resolution handling and improved user experience. This contribution included both a targeted feature and a bug fix within a one-month period.
