Worked on the tianocore/edk2-platforms repository to deprecate and remove the VanGoghBoard platform, which had reached end-of-life status. This effort focused on eliminating obsolete code paths to reduce ongoing maintenance requirements and mitigate potential security and compatibility risks. The process involved creating a pre-removal tag to preserve the previous state for possible rollback, ensuring a smooth transition for future development. Leveraged expertise in ACPI, embedded systems, and firmware development, utilizing both C and Assembly languages to carefully excise deprecated components. The work improved project hygiene and aligned the codebase with the project's roadmap, supporting long-term maintainability and readiness.
