Worked on stabilizing documentation tooling for the openai/codex repository, focusing on improving the reliability of autogenerated README Table of Contents. Addressed a bug in the ToC generation script by ensuring existing ToC blocks were excluded during regeneration, which prevented infinite rewrite loops and eliminated duplication of the end marker. This targeted fix, implemented using Python and scripting skills, resulted in a more stable and accurate documentation process. The approach emphasized idempotency and adherence to documentation management best practices, enhancing the contributor experience and ensuring that the README remains clear and maintainable for both users and future development efforts.
