Worked on the facebook/chef-cookbooks repository to enhance network script modularity and code maintainability over a two-month period. Delivered a feature that decoupled primary_interface_pause_configured from fb_hardware, moving it into fb_network_scripts to enable independent operation of network scripts and reduce cross-component dependencies. This refactor, implemented using Ruby and configuration management principles, improved testability and streamlined future network-related changes. Additionally, focused on backend development by clarifying documentation and inline comments, which improved code readability and facilitated onboarding for new contributors. Demonstrated a disciplined approach to code quality through peer-reviewed changes and clear commit history, supporting long-term maintainability.
