
Worked on the hotosm/drone-tm repository to deliver a robust, end-to-end image upload and processing pipeline focused on reliability, scalability, and data quality. Leveraged Python, JavaScript, and AWS S3 to implement multipart uploads, migrate storage operations to boto3, and introduce a grid-based sharpness scoring system for terrain image quality assessment. Integrated Uppy for frontend upload handling and enhanced the user experience with telemetry, monitoring, and improved error handling. Refactored backend and frontend components for maintainability, added EXIF data extraction, and introduced HSV-based terrain classification, resulting in faster uploads, automated classification, and a more reliable image review workflow.
April 2026: Delivered Terrain Image Quality Assessment and Classification Enhancement for hotosm/drone-tm.
