Worked on enhancing the STOFS-3D Atlantic model’s open boundary capabilities within the schism-dev/schism repository. Developed a targeted configuration update that incorporated boundary IDs 0 and 1 into both the default setup and the v8_Hercules factory method, enabling more accurate open boundary handling for Atlantic simulations. Focused on configuration management and model setup, the work was implemented using Python and emphasized clear traceability through commit-linked updates. This feature improved the model’s readiness for realistic boundary conditions, supporting more robust simulation workflows. No bug fixes were recorded during this period, with efforts concentrated on delivering this specific configuration enhancement.
