Worked on enhancing the chat Bubble component in the FaridSafi/react-native-gifted-chat repository by modernizing its touch interaction model. Replaced the deprecated TouchableWithoutFeedback with the Pressable component, leveraging React Native’s updated touch handling capabilities to improve both performance and responsiveness in the chat UI. Focused on maintaining existing user experience while adopting a more maintainable and future-proof approach, which also sets the stage for improved accessibility. Utilized JavaScript and TypeScript to implement these changes, demonstrating a strong grasp of front end development principles and attention to evolving best practices in mobile interface engineering. No bug fixes were recorded during this period.
