During December 2024, Fernando Hernando focused on improving the reliability of grid-based visualizations in the mxcube/mxcubeweb repository. He addressed a critical bug in the Grid Scan heatmap rendering, where incorrect data points were used for color calculations, resulting in inaccurate visual output. By carefully analyzing the JavaScript codebase and applying front end development and UI development skills, Fernando corrected the logic to ensure heatmaps now reflect accurate data. This work enhanced data integrity and preserved user trust in the visualization tools. His contributions maintained clear code traceability, demonstrating attention to detail and a methodical approach to resolving UI issues.
