Over a two-month period, contributed to safety and reliability features in autonomous vehicle software, focusing on C++ and ROS 2 within the autoware_lanelet2_extension and technolojin/autoware.universe repositories. Developed a geometric boundary check to correctly classify points on triangle edges, addressing edge-case errors in lanelet processing. Enhanced emergency signaling by integrating turn indicator support into the autoware_mrm_handler, improving vehicle response in critical scenarios. Later, expanded the autoware_diagnostic_graph_aggregator with regex-based removal and refactored configuration logic, increasing flexibility and maintainability. Emphasized robust testing and configuration management, resulting in safer deployments and more accurate diagnostic graph aggregation for robotics applications.
June 2025: Delivered a major enhancement to the Diagnostic Graph Aggregator in technolojin/autoware.universe by adding regex-based removals and boosting configurability. Refactored editing logic to support both full-path and regex patterns and expanded test coverage to ensure reliability. These changes reduce configuration churn, improve robustness of diagnostic graph aggregation, and set the foundation for future extensibility.

May 2025 performance snapshot: Delivered two safety- and reliability-focused improvements across two Autoware repos. Implemented a robust boundary check for triangles, ensuring points on edges are correctly classified as inside, and added emergency turn indicators support in the autoware_mrm_handler, including a new subscription path and updates to the vehicle command gate. These changes reduce geometric edge-case errors, enable timely emergency signaling, and strengthen safety-critical control flows in autonomous operation.
