During December 2024, Fitz revamped the issue intake process for the uc-cdis/gen3-helm repository by designing and implementing new issue templates using Markdown and YAML. Fitz introduced structured templates for both bug reports and feature requests, updating file extensions and adding required fields to ensure higher quality submissions. This work focused on documentation and issue template management, providing clearer guidance for contributors and improving the consistency of data collected for triage. The changes enhanced operational traceability and streamlined issue tracking, enabling maintainers to assess and route issues more efficiently. Fitz’s contributions addressed intake quality with targeted, repository-specific improvements.
