Worked on the delta-io/delta-rs repository to deliver a new feature focused on improving data integrity and reliability in backend workflows. Developed a checked RecordBatchWriter constructor in Rust that validates table metadata before writer initialization, ensuring compatibility with existing Delta tables and preventing invalid writer creation. Enhanced the core writer path by introducing early failure reporting and robust error handling, which streamlines debugging and reduces the risk of runtime issues. The work demonstrated strong backend development skills and a careful approach to error management, resulting in a more dependable data writing process without introducing new bugs during the development period.
