Worked on enhancing the reliability of sFlow configuration parsing within the redBorder/cookbook-logstash repository, focusing on backend development using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Addressed a bug where nodes lacking homenets were incorrectly processed, ensuring that only valid nodes are included in the configuration. This fix improved data quality and configuration reliability for the sFlow collector. The work involved targeted refactoring, moving helper functions, and adding test metadata to strengthen maintainability and edge-case coverage. Collaborated closely with peers to align release notes and versioning, delivering the changes as part of Release 8.9.7 and supporting ongoing stability and traceability goals.
