Franz Fuchs developed a platform-specific OpenSBI build target for the cheri-alliance-gfe environment within the CTSRD-CHERI/cheribuild repository. By extending the existing BuildAllianceOpenSBI class in Python, Franz configured the FW_TEXT_START memory address to enable targeted and consistent builds for this embedded system platform. This work automated the build process, reducing manual intervention and improving reliability across deployment and continuous integration cycles. The implementation focused on build systems and embedded systems, ensuring that platform requirements were met and changes were well-documented. Franz’s contribution addressed the need for reproducible, platform-tailored OpenSBI builds, enhancing traceability and maintainability for future development.
