Worked on the facebookresearch/spdl repository to enhance the reliability and maintainability of its test suite. Focused on strengthening type safety by introducing strict type checking to the visualization test, which helps catch type errors early in the development process. Refactored the path variants test to incorporate Python type hints, improving code readability and easing future maintenance. Leveraged Python’s asynchronous programming and robust error handling to ensure more reliable testing pipelines. These targeted improvements reduced regression risk and streamlined onboarding for new contributors, resulting in a more robust and maintainable codebase without introducing new features or addressing bug fixes.
