Worked on the dynawo/dynawo repository to enhance inverter-based generation (IBG) modeling by implementing a phase-locked loop (PLL) freeze mechanism along with low and over-voltage ride-through (LVRT and OVRT) protections for aggregated IBG models. Leveraged Modelica and simulation modeling skills to migrate and integrate IBG models from a previous project, ensuring consistency with the current PLL implementation. July 2023 — Dynawo/dynawo: Delivered IBG modeling enhancements with PLL freeze, LVRT and OVRT protections. Implemented PLL freeze mechanism and protections for aggregated IBG, enabling more stable, realistic simulations of inverter-based generation. Migrated and integrated IBG models from 22_ISGT2023 and aligned with the current PLL implementation. Fixed PLL freeze bug (commit 191a242992c5ae95ee96dfbff09cfbc302396b8d) and completed end-to-end validation. This work reduces grid-penetration risk in planning/operation and improves dynamic fidelity for IBG-rich scenarios.
