In February 2025, Fry Kun enhanced the Firebase App Distribution module within the firebase/firebase-android-sdk repository by improving cross-browser Custom Tabs support for Android. He refactored the supportsCustomTabs logic to leverage CustomTabsClient.getPackageName, resulting in a more reliable in-app browser flow for testers signing in across various browsers and devices. Working primarily in Java and applying Android development expertise, Fry focused on streamlining the onboarding process and reducing friction for testers. The work was consolidated into a single core commit, thoroughly validated through code review, and prepared for release, demonstrating depth in targeted feature development and integration.
