During their tenure, Phs focused on stabilizing and maintaining the Expensify/Bedrock backend, addressing critical reliability issues rather than introducing new features. They restored the Bedrock binary download and build process, reverting recent changes to align with production baselines and reduce CI/CD deployment risks. Using C++, Bash, and GitHub Actions, Phs improved the resilience of HTTPS proxy connections by refining header management and enhancing error handling for server terminations. Their work also introduced detailed connection-state logging, enabling faster diagnostics of network issues. This approach demonstrated a methodical focus on operational stability and robust change control within a complex backend environment.
