Worked on stabilizing and optimizing the Octavius Kubernetes deployment within the lsst-sqre/phalanx repository, focusing on configuration management and resource allocation for the web application and its supporting services. Leveraged YAML and Kubernetes to refine resource requests and limits, implement node affinities and tolerations, and configure external listeners and schema registries for Kafka. Enhanced deployment reliability by updating environment variables and pre-commit hooks, ensuring consistent builds and runtime behavior. This work reduced resource contention and improved the stability of downstream services, demonstrating a methodical approach to DevOps practices and infrastructure management over the course of the development period.
