Developed WebSocket Custom Socket Options Support for the novuhq/novu JavaScript client, enabling users to pass custom socket options through configuration for more flexible real-time connections. The work involved updating the Novu class to accept and propagate these options during WebSocket initialization, ensuring compatibility with enterprise deployment requirements. Comprehensive tests were added to validate correct behavior when initializing with custom options, and documentation was updated to guide developers on usage and effects. This feature, implemented using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Socket.IO, enhanced the configurability and reliability of the client’s WebSocket connections without introducing new bug fixes during the development period.
