Gaetan Chaboussie focused on modernizing the apache/ofbiz-framework by leading a comprehensive migration from Java EE to Jakarta EE standards. Over the course of the month, he upgraded the framework’s runtime environment by moving to Tomcat 10.1.34 and systematically refactored code to replace javax namespaces with jakarta equivalents. This work included updating the Juel library and reengineering file upload handling to ensure compatibility and robustness under the new Jakarta specifications. Utilizing Java, Groovy, and XML, Gaetan’s efforts established a future-ready foundation for the repository, addressing dependency management and code migration challenges to streamline ongoing platform evolution and deployment.
